Ensuring You are Covered

In order to enroll in UPMC for You, you must qualify for Medical Assistance (Medicaid) through the state of Pennsylvania. The Department of Human Services (DHS) will determine whether you qualify for Medicaid and what benefits you and/or your family members will receive. Learn more about eligibility here.

How to Enroll in UPMC for You

There are several ways to do it:

  1. Online: Visit enrollnow.net/enroll to enroll.

  2. By app: Download the PA Enrollment Services app.
  3. By phone: Call PA Enrollment Services at 1-800-440-3989 to enroll in UPMC for You. TTY users should call 1-800-618-4225. Help is available Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Customer service is offered in multiple languages.
  4. By mail: Download an application, then mail your completed form to this address:

Need to apply for Medicaid/Medical Assistance:

Use COMPASS or your County Assistance Office:

  • Visit the COMPASS website at state.pa.us to complete an online application.
  • Download an application to send to your local County Assistance Office (CAO). You can also contact your CAO for instructions on how to apply. Caseworkers are available at the CAO to help you and answer your questions. They can talk with you in person or over the phone (if the office is closed to the public).

  • Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
  • Wednesday from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.
  • Saturday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Free Transportation and Zero Copay Benefit Limitations

UPMC for You’s transportation benefit provides non-medical fixed route transportation and is available to members who reside in the Northeast and Southeast Physical HealthChoices zones only. The counties included in these zones are Bradford, Bucks, Carbon, Centre, Chester, Clinton, Columbia, Delaware, Juniata, Lackawanna, Luzerne, Lycoming, Mifflin, Monroe, Montgomery, Montour, Northumberland, Philadelphia, Pike, Schuylkill, Snyder, Sullivan, Susquehanna, Tioga, Union, Wayne, and Wyoming. The benefit is available at no additional cost. Mobile and paper ticketing options vary by county. If you are a UPMC for You member residing in the Northeast and Southeast Physical HealthChoices zones and have questions about how to utilize the benefit, please contact the UPMC for You Transportation Unit at 1-833-779-6827 (TTY: 711).

The Transportation Unit is available Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The zero-dollar copayment benefit applies to medical and pharmacy benefits and is available to members who reside in the Lehigh/Capital, Northeast, and Southeast Physical HealthChoices zones only. The counties included in these zones are Adams, Berks, Bradford, Bucks, Carbon, Centre, Chester, Clinton, Columbia, Cumberland, Delaware, Dauphin, Franklin, Fulton, Huntingdon, Juniata, Lackawanna, Lancaster, Lebanon, Lehigh, Luzerne, Lycoming, Mifflin, Monroe, Montgomery, Montour, Northampton, Northumberland, Perry, Philadelphia, Pike, Schuylkill, Snyder, Sullivan, Susquehanna, Tioga, Union, Wayne, Wyoming and York counties.
