To apply for UPMC for You, you must qualify for Medical Assistance (Medicaid) through the state of Pennsylvania. The Department of Human Services (DHS) will determine whether you qualify for Medicaid and what benefits you and/or your family members will receive.

UPMC for You’s transportation benefit provides nonmedical, fixed route rides and is available to members who live in the Northeast or Southeast Physical HealthChoices zones only. The counties included in these zones are Bradford, Bucks, Carbon, Centre, Chester, Clinton, Columbia, Delaware, Juniata, Lackawanna, Luzerne, Lycoming, Mifflin, Monroe, Montgomery, Montour, Northumberland, Philadelphia, Pike, Schuylkill, Snyder, Sullivan, Susquehanna, Tioga, Union, Wayne, and Wyoming. The benefit is available at no extra cost. Mobile and paper ticketing options vary by county. If you are a UPMC for You member living in the Northeast or Southeast Physical HealthChoices zones and have questions about how to use the benefit, please call the UPMC for You Transportation Unit at 1-833-779-6827 (TTY: 711).
The Transportation Unit is available from Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and is closed for New Year's Day, Easter, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day.
